Today was a great day at VFM! CAF's B-29 FIFI came to stay with us for a while, fresh off their Arizona trip, and CAF's B-24A Ol' 927 dropped by on their way home from the NAS Fort Worth air show to pick up the B-29's PX goods to be transported back to Addison. There is construction work going on at Addison which is causing the runway to be shortened so much that the B-29 can't operate from it, so she'll be bunking with us for a while (and we're darned glad to be hosting her!). I understand they'll be doing some crew training flights around the end of April, and then she'll be off tour for about a month, and back to VFM for a while longer. B-24/B-29 Squadron personnel, please correct me if I'm wrong with any of that.
Some WIXers might claim, "No photos, didn't happen!" So, here's the proof!

These guys showed up, too! (coming home from NAS Fort Worth air show)

(Yeah, I know, they live here and we see 'em all the time, but still. . . cool!)
The sun was blazing, the wind was screaming, the air was dry as a bone, the dust was blowing, and I am dog-tired, but it was truly a great day!
