Can you make out enough of BuNo with a magnifying glass to distinguish between 126515 and 131515, looks fairly clear in the scan. If 131515 (-5) would be a super rare shot as bird was shot down by MiG-15s!

Nathan
I would strongly suggest 126515, as it is known to have had jet pods added, and is illustrated as such in Wayne Mutzas book. I have photos of a number of other P2V-6 Neptunes and none of those at least have the jet modification. I the rather sparse individual historical notes in appendix 11, there is a mention of one other so called P2V-6F, which was used on the P2V-5s with the jet mod. This is 126532. I have photos of it both with Glenview in 1960 and Willow Grove in 1957 and it is without the jets in both of these. Without any other information to substantiate the fact, I would strongly suggest the 126515 was the only P2V-6 to be modified this way.
Regarding Fasron 102, I have almost no information at all. It was a Fleet Air Service squadron based at Norfolk, Virginia and was disbanded in 1960.
Would there be any possibility of getting a larger scan of this photo? Also would you have any more Neptune photos that could help fill in the gaps in my Neptune project?
Best Wishes
