Has anyone been to NAS North Island?

BTW At NTC there were 2 A-7Bs and a T-34B. Wonder what happened to them??,

The A-4 is in the visitor parking area just outside the gate IIRC, so is accessible to the public.

The aircraft marked 'G', 'H' and 'I' are 'junk' airframes outside the USS Midway restoration shop. There's also major parts of an F7U Cutlass visible in the photo, as well as a TBM and various hulks of fixed- and rotary-winged aircraft.

If you know serials may be able to help you. I am gradually populating the airframes database so they may eventually show up.

You might consider calling the base and speak with the Public Information Officer. He(she) will give you the current status. BTW, are you planning another trip to California ??? I do not recall if you included San Diego area during last years trip but there is a lot to see in that immediate area.

I am thinking of going back to Reno and possibly setting aside two weeks for the trip. I was in So Cal in 2009. Perhaps fly into to San Francisco make quick a trip to So Cal just hitting the sites along the way I missed before. After that head east into Arizona and north to Reno.

Right now just an idea, but looking more possible as it looks like I will be keeping my job.
