Steve Hinton and his brother on the ground...

That be Mr. Hinton in my book. One of the coolest and most down to earth guys I have ever met in either Indy racing or aviation. When I grow up, I want to be like Steve.

Seriously, if you have not had a chance to BS with Steve, do it. A great aviator and has some really cool stories.

My apologies if this is ancient history, but is the Friedkin A-36 wearing paint yet?

I met him at the Indianapolis airshow in 2006 as he was coming down off the POF P-38. I referred to him as Mr. Hinton. He assured me his name was just Steve, but I disagreed!

Funny, last year at OSH I kept referring to him as Sir, "Thank you , Sir." after a long conversation at a gathering. He kept declining as he said, "you and I are about the same age, I'm just Steve."
Like I said, a real cool guy!
