The Museum of Army Flying is rebuilding a "Slick" UH-1H Huey into a Bushranger gunship at the moment so people will be able to see what the gunships used to look like when the RAAF used them in Vietnam as a heavy firepower bird.
The gunships had in Vietnam and post war service....4 x M-60s machines guns, 2 x Mini guns and 2 x 2.75 rocket pods.

Recently i was passed along some photos which i cant present here unfortunately,showing these Huey stored away. They look to be well cared for.
There are plans i have been told to hopefully give some of the stored Hueys to museums or warbird groups in Australia to keep them going.. but so far that has not happened yet. Another plan was the govt was to give them to a another country like Phillipines to use as they were seeking more Hueys.
Found this today also - the last flight of the legendary Huey - in 2007 - last time they flew in RAAF - Army service.
