Hi all

I remember reading somewhere of a Vietnam bombing mission, carried by the US Navy if I'm not mistaken, where a latrine was droped in the VC. Does anyone has any links to this (or can tell me if it's urban legend)?

many thanks,

rr

It was a toilet, hung on a bomb rack on an A-1 on the Midway. I had a friend who was on the Midway who heard the story, even though it happened several years prior to his time on the ship.

Many aircraft profiles and I believe the model kit forget to add the bomb tail to the toilet!

I've seen photos of a mocked up kitchen sink mounted on a hard point on a SPAD, 8) and read accounts of a 5 Lb. blue brick practice bomb being dropped on a mission just because the air boss got tired of seeing the thing rattling around the deck, they speculated some NVA guy spent a lot of time trying to firure out how to disarm it-

Didn't some one who posts here have the potty bomb as an avatar?

Just google "tamiya paper tiger 2.
There are some great builds of it .

The pilot CDR Stoddard was killed in the same plane later in the war (Oct 66)
