With FHC's B-25 out of paint an on its way to its new home, I assume Aero Trader is now beginning the work on Lewis' 25? Any more pics of the A-20 and A-26 would always be appreciated.

Chicks Dig Warbirds.......right?

I saw them working on the A-20 yesterday.problem with photos of Aerotrader is the dirty looks I always get when taking pics there.thats why my pics of them are from a distance.They have done work for us but it doesnt mean they like me and my camera.I might be wrong but thats the vibe I get there when I cruise by and try to take pics.I have to walk the tightrope and not over step my boundaries or wear out my welcome. comprende? the problem might be the fact that some info posted here winds up on magazines and other places they dont wanna be. can you blame them?

Being an "out of towner" and not having to worry about any of the same concerns as expressed by agent86 I boldly snapped the pic below on the Friday prior to the airshow despite getting a bit of "evil eye".

You said it brother. What's the deal people getting their drawers in a wad about photos? They're 60 year old warbirds at a civilian airport.....not a classified aircraft at a top secret government facility.

Some people (and organizations) have a very inflated sense of their own worth and where they think they fit into the scheme of things. They do very nice work but I agree with jerry and Chappie, if what they did was high dollar custom prototype show cars for F,G, or C I could see the secretiveness and some of the attitude but not when you're dealing with 65 year old airplanes. Don't want it seen? then S.T.F.D.!
Remember the old tale, 'people who live in glass houses should do some things in the basement'

agent86, does Aero Trader still have Kermit Weeks' A-26C 44-35590? I've been trying to track down its current whereabouts and maybe see photos, if any exist. If they have it, is it at Chino or at their desert facility?

Ok,before we all start ranting at Aero Trader.I want everyone to remember that I only felt bad vibes taking pics there.NOONE ever told me not to ,nor yelled at me.I might be full of it , Maybe they are burned out over getting their pictures taken. Dont rant over my own bs.They did great work for us and mr.Scholl? was very nice to me. Just my personal feelings and based on nothing I have proven

Carl has always been good to me as well as has Tony on his trips to Falcon Field here in Az. I last saw Carl at Eddie Packards memorial as Pooner and I both spoke with him. I took some pics from the door at A.T. as well and the guy up front had no problems telling me what was going on with all the planes but to be perfectly honest, sometimes it's nobodys business. Just because we are warbird nuts does not entitle us to know every detail. Since it isn't a museum and these guys are working for a living, I'm sure they might get a little short with everyone wanting to take pics and all. And yes, Kermits A-26 is still there in the back of the hangar. They've made a ton of progress since the last time I saw it a few years ago. So don't be too harsh on these guys if you feel like you got a little bit of a brush off. This is their livelihood, not their hobby.

Aero Trader doesn't care if you take pictures. Some of their customers like FHC might however. I suspect Rod Lewis is less secretive. The A-20 hangar is frequently open, just not usually all the way.

The A-26 is still in back of their hangar.

Keep in mind this is a business, not a museum however. It costs the owners money to have employees answer lookieloo questions and chase people that don't belong out of their hangars. It amazes me sometimes how bold and inconsiderate some people are! Imagine if you left your front door open and someone walked in and started taking pictures of your belongings like they owned the place.

My personal theory also is that the less you leave your hangar door open the less likely you are to be a victim of theft. I'd rather be a random victim than a selected victim.

And they do amazing work and have for yrs.Thank god for Mr.Scholl and aero Trader.

I visited Aero Trader back in the 87th year of the last Century, and met Mr. Scholl, he was great to me, and gave me free roam of the facility and grounds. We have exchanged emails from time to time where he would (in the past) describe what was going on there with a particular airframe. The business has grown, so I imagine that he is very busy, as now he refers to an article written in *pukes -heaves*pukes again* air classics (which I refuse to buy that mag or any other publication by *pukes* challenge publications. He has provided with with a couple of pictures from time to time when he had a moment to take them and I am very appreciative.
Having a non-employee in your facility under any circumstances is a tremendous liability. One Aw Sh** and the business could be wiped out.
I'm greatful that we have people like Carl, Tony, and the Staff of Aero Trader that pump out these beautiful examples of airframes.
Now, what B-25 is that in photo #4 and where did it come from and where is it going??

Are we sure that the FHC B-25 is gone? I saw it still in the hangar the week after the airshow.

That B-25 has a painting on the other side and says "Pacific Princess" does the name ring any bells?
