I used to restore Ferrari's for people with too much money. Then I decided to follow my passion and wrench on warbirds. I thought I would get a few points up on my fellow warbird freaks.I have worked on T-6's,P-51's and T-28's.I have spent hundreds of hours stripping Green Zinc Chromate paint off of them all. That dam paint is second only to a modern 2 part epoxy based paint like Imron, when it comes to how hard it is and what a pain in the butt it is to strip..and I'm so good at it now,I'm first in line to do it.Old Ferrari's are looking kinda good these days.forget the brownie points.anyone see a common link between all these planes?

common links between ferrari and warbirds are : both can be had with v-12s , seen them both in yellow. P-38 Yippie was red. only red warbird that comes to mind right now. both are expensive. neither get used enough by the owners. if you have to ask how much$ they arent for you. but getting to work on them is priceless.

During the last days of WW2, there was a captured FW-190 used as a squadron hack by a U.S. outfit that was painted overall red.

BRANIFF had several 'catsup bottle' 727's,
METROJET used red 737's for the few months they were around-

Bob Pond's Spitfire XIV was lovely in red when it was G-FIRE. There was a matching Sea Fury.
