Electra 188A/P-3 Orion Folks:

Good day!!

Doing a bit of research on the Electra L-188A id plates. Does anyone know where these ID plates are located?

If you have a picture or either one of them plz post. I understand they follow a different numerical sequence. Maybe someone else may expand on it a bit. Are the Lockheed C/N and the Factory sequence numbers a different item??

Our beloved Lockeed L-118A Electra FAH 555 is running some ground test at Toncontin, Honduras for a poss ferry flight to Canada (Air Spray Folks) in the near future. We would like to follow up on its previous IDs. The registration FAH 555 is a bit of a puzzle on this bird.

Tks in advance

Should be on the M.E.D. frame or in the flight deck.

Yeah, if I remember correctly the id plate on the P-3 was on the back side of the bulkhead behind the flight deck, on the left side near the TACCO station.

Not 100% positive, but I seem to recall oogling the plates on a few of the A models I flew once I realized they were built 5 years before I was born......YIKES!

Yes, they're on the flight deck bulkhead. I was looking for it because our local community college A&P school had one which was bought by Aero Union as a firefighter and I did a story on if for FlyPast.

It was a very early P-3A (Navy serial 150513, later Spanish 22+25, now N920AU) the plate was marked as a P-3V-1.
