Here are a few pics of the Yanks Museum @ Chino.

Sorry about the tail-feathers, spinners, etc. in the way
(and the cut-off portions of airframe shots), but they
have these birds packed into those hangars so tight, it's
impossible to get a clear/whole picture of the darned
things.

Apologies not necessary. Thanks for sharing!

Do you want to find locations of displayed, stored or active aircraft? Then start with the The Locator.
Do you want to find or contribute to the documented history of an aircraft? If so then start with the Airframes Database.

Great to see some shots of warbirds across the pond :) Really wish I could get to a show at Chino.

What's the story of the P-47 restoration. I'm not sure, but I was thinking that project had been completed some time ago.

Also, does the Lightning have an authentic F-5 nose, or is the one on the plane a custom post-war component (mapping company, etc)?

It had been completed, but apparently the prop needed overhauling. Maybe it wasn't quite complete, or maybe they are doing the recurring corrosion AD.

I believe the Lightning is in fact an F-5, although the registration shows a P-38L (essentially the same except for the photo equipment/nose).

Looks like the Dauntless was getting some type of work done to its right wheel as well. You have to hand it to the YAF for apparently maintaining their aircraft as if they were flyers, even if they do remain static.

The P-51 is a huge stand out IMO.

The 38 is indeed an F-5G. Stan Hoefler told me about ten years back that they had bought a photo nose with the intent to restore it as it used to be in the "old days"! Great to see it with the larger nose. Not as pretty as the fighter, but a rare sight. Too bad Champlin redid his genuine two-seat nightfighter version to single seat. It is the only one in existence!!! :(
