Past year we investigate a german aircraft crash site around Salerno. Yesterday we return and find other fragments. Here is a report of past and new findings.

Some idea about german aircraft have this label? Thanks.

Oh man, this is great stuff... let's see, at least one Daimler Benz DB 601, film scraps, and what appears to be an electrical relay for a short/longwave radio... I'm guessing a recce version of a Bf 109F or Me 210, maybe? What's the exact location?

I'll do a little more digging to see if I can come up with any firmer details based on the equipment labels you've posted (none of them are airframe serial related).

Cheers!

Lynn

Thanks for your precious informations. Crash site is about 50 km south of Salerno, Italy. If he was a Bf109F or a Me210 he must have machineguns? We not find any bullets. I think it can be a Fieseler....

Gerat or Material Category 24 stood for all W/T and R/T equipment. Towards the end of the war the number of Material Categories was increased from 95 to 109 and still represented the normal Material Category Number. The number 124 however is unique. The range covered by 24 was so immense that it became necessary to allot a distinctive Material Category to cover spares as opposed to main sets so all components and spares became Material Category 124.

Material Category 9 is Engines so 9-801 stands for B.M.W. 801.
Material Category 8 stands for the airframe.
