I concur 100%!!! THis is a MUST HAVE for every warbird enthusiast. Mike and the guys did an excellent job of interviewing these pilots and engineering an excellent 8-hour DVD set. For anyone wanting a no-holds-barred documentary of these Corsair pilots' experiences from their indoctrination into the Navy/Marines all the way through the height of combat and beyond, this is the boxed set to own. Lots of archive and modern footage, and photos to compliment the story lines as well. I've seen 4 hours of it so far, and even after that amount of time I had to pry myself away from the experience. A quality production through & through! 8)

Paul and Rob,

Thank you for your kind words about our project. My name is Greg Schneider from E Fighter Productions. I felt the need to respond to this post so I decided to register in WIX. I have been checking in from time to time because I enjoy getting news on current warbird information and happened to notice this thread.

This type of feedback is all that I could have hoped for as a result of watching The Corsair Experience. We embarked on the 3 year undertaking with the goal of creating a documentary that warbird experts, fans, aviation enthusiasts, and historians would enjoy. This was quite a departure from the traditional "made for TV" airplane documentaries. And with feedback like the posts by Paul and Rob, the hard work was worth it. If you guys like it, it has stood the test of the toughest critics in the world.

Thank you. And thank you veterans.

Greg,

I had heard of this production several times, both here and surfing the internet. I had considered it several times but due to financial concerns at the time I had to pass on it. If this production is as glowing as these gentlemens reports indicate...then I can say you will have another satisfied customer.

If I may ask this, do you, or are you planning any other "tribute" productions, for example, the B-17's or perhaps the P-47 ?

Thank you for reading,

Paul

Thanks Col. Rohr!

Aircraft Mech Paul,

P-47 is next. hehe. It is a PW R2800 theme collection. joking

We did an interview with a P-47 pilot and he remarked about how his brother was flying Corsairs with the USMC and that they would argue all of the time about which was the better plane at different tasks. Quite an entertaining topic.

Greg,

This is great news. I can assure you I will be in line to get this one when it comes out. One question though....in your footage for the DVD set, will you be trying to get some footage of all of the flyable examples to showcase those that still fly and also some of the recovery efforts and recovered aircraft that have made their way back to the States for rebuild. I guess I am asking about the ones they dug up at the abandoned airfield in the Pacific recently...the 3 Razorback models. I heard they were all back and going to be rebuilt to flyable condition (YES!!!).

Just thinking out loud here...but you're got my full attention on this one :D

Paul

Aircraft Mech Paul,
As with The Corsair Experience, we will capture as much current footage as we can to include in the set. With TCE we spent time with Brad Hood and he showed us the challenges in the restoration process of that amazing Vintage Fighters Corsair. We would try to capture as many restorations in progress as available for the P-47 project too.

The challenge with the P-47 project is the need to do it in High Definition. We funded The Corsair Experience out of our own pockets and with a small grant. This is not an option for us to produce a High Definition documentary with funding from our own pockets. It is far to costly for us. We our currently working very hard at getting proper funding for the P-47 project. It is a long process and time is short. The immediate need to document these stories while our veterans can still share them is urgent. The challenge with getting funding for these type of documentary projects is that the demographic market is a special niche market and most broadcast outlets like a neat short 60min-90min overview that just scratches the surface of a very robust topic. We are very determined to complete this project and are looking at non-traditional sources for funding a unique, in-depth, once in a lifetime documentary on the P-47 and it's pilots and crew.

So if anyone has suggestions or wants to help us with funding and resources, please private message me.

Thanks,
