New book "Plagued By Good Luck"

I understand that former USAF Skyraider pilot Bill Bagwell has just released a book "Plagued By Good Luck". Still waiting to get a hold of a copy, but a friend (who was also an A-1 pilot) tells me it's a good one. Sounds like Bill had a heck of a career.

I just wanted to pass on that the book is now available as hard bound and soft cover versions. The best place to get these is at Barnes and Noble. (Both versions are in stock.)

You can also get the Kindle version from Amazon. This version has the advantage of having color photos in it. (Books have black & white photos.) You can also get the hard & soft cover versions at Amazon, but it shows 2-3 weeks shipping.

I don't propose to bore or lecture on why it's better to do that than go through the rapaciousness that is Amazon. Just think a moment whether you want the money to go to the people who wrote and brought you the book - or not.

I just finished reading the Kindle version. Very good book, easy read with a very informal, almost conversational, style. Bags flew the F-86, F-102, F-101, and A-1. The book was originally started as a history project for his family but I'm glad he chose to share with the rest of us. It would have been easy to stick with just the highs of his career, but Bags chose to reveal a number of not-so-great moments in his life as well and I respect him for that ... a career flying fighters and later working in the heyday of the Space Shuttle program could cause one to experience the full spectrum of human emotions. I'd give it a 4 out of 5 stars (plus I'm a Skyraider fan).
