Hey guys,
Nooo, not done with "Mustangs at Dawn" yet ... I'm letting the background dry this week so I can work on the Mustangs without danger of smearing work already done with a stray finger (did that on my AT-38C exhaust nozzles for "Black Knights at Nellis" ... not fun to repair the 'damage').
Since I had an already prepared small canvas panel ready for another small work I never got to, I decided to crank out, so to speak, the attached "Summers at Duxford".
These smaller works not only add to the portfolio, which is important for any artist, but they are excellent "exercises" to keep the brush skills honed. Look for many more in the future.
This one shows a Spitfire LF Mk.IXc rounding out over the grass at DX. Like most of my 'miniatures', this one is based on a photo - in this case one I took at Duxford in 2002.
Oil on Linen mounted on panel. 8" x 11-3/8".
Enjoy!
Wade
