The B-29, T square 54 was a gate guardian @ Lowery AFB and the NMUSAF had it moved to MoF when Lowery was surplused. It's being restored inside and out but in combination with the policies of the NMUSAF and the MoF's 'why should an airplane museum have or want flying airplanes?' policy it's earth bound. The CONNIE is a static display and was trucked across Canada after laying abandoned in a field for decades, to Upstate New York to what used to be EMPIRE AEROSPACE a now defunct MRO where it was repaired and repainted and was then trucked across the U.S. to Seattle. I've heard the narrative story of the transcon move and wish they would do a book about it. And since it's engineless and used lots of angle iron, it too is married to Mother Earth. The 'BEE' is airworthy but..see earlier entry about MoF and flying airplanes.
