Maybe coming up for sale if not resolved could be a few DC-3s and a Constellation ...
Maybe some might escape to US or Australia?

and some have already gone.

RP-C1354 (C-47B) and RP-C1352 were being parted out last time I saw them. Both are now gone, presumed scrapped.

RP-C535 ex Victoria Air was also missing on my last visit.

Hope the Connie can somehow be saved. Don't let the scrappers win!

So Paul - how good is "surprisingly good" condition on the Connie? Obviously needs new wheels and tires and the right windscreen loks like it needs help. . . all I can picture is the royal mess that birds made of our F-86L. :?

I've got photos of the WINKIES CONNIE on the ramp @ KPAE fresh out of overhaul that took place in Arlington WA. It's really an ex Navy Admirals barge. The plan was to haul fish from the P.I. in it and a 54/55 series DC-8 but the P.I. Federalies siezed both aircraft and they've been ongoing biological experiments since 1988.

In '88 she was beautiful! and the 3350's were pure music to hear, :) Ralph P. has some copies of the pix that I sent to him a few years ago, maybe he'll post them here

I remember the -8 sitting @ KBFI in the East ramp area between the old WCA hangers and the Terminal (about where the UPS ramp is now), in the background you can see the old control tower, the Boeing wind tunnel facility was easily identified by 'King Kongs balls' on the top, now all gone along with Plant 2, & Jorgensen Steel. view is looking West

That's a shame. I wasn't aware that any of the Connies at Pima were under the threat of being scrapped :(

From Ralph Pettersen's site "Constellation News":

The population of Constellation survivors will be one less with the scrapping of EC-121H N51006. This aircraft was delivered to the USAF as RC-121D 53-535 in March 1955. Retired in December 1969, it went to the Pima Air and Space Museum in October 1973, where it was on display until October 1981 when it returned to Davis Monthan AFB for storage. Sold in 1989 it was stored in various scrap yards around the base and stripped of valuable parts by a number of owners. HARS acquired the aircraft and moved it from the Allied Aircraft yard to the Pima Air and Space Museum in June 2008. Bob Delahunty, President of HARS, confirmed that the aircraft is indeed being scrapped. The forward fuselage section will be transported to Australia for restoration. Parts salvaged from the aircraft will be used as spares for the organization’s airworthy Super Connie VH-EAG and also for the restoration of C-121G N105CF, currently stored at Marana Regional Airport near Tucson. HARS has generously offered other parts and pieces to the Pima Air and Space Museum and other Constellation restoration projects.

Sad to hear.
