I just got back from JCWs place and watched the inspection of the attach angels on his SNJ by eddy current. It was a really amazing learning experience watching Jeff and Mike the inspector do their thing. After hearing about how long the dye penetrate testing is taking (up to 75 hours or more) 4 hours with no paint stripping along with a better testing method seems the way to go. To the folks that say the eddy current doesn't show corrosion, that is completely wrong and false!!! Jeff took a wing rib with one side that looked perfect and held it for Mike to test not showing him the other side which was riddled with corrosion is various degrees and shapes. Mike mapped out the whole piece even scoring how bad the corrosion was. I think it's cool that Jeff is the only person I know of that received a AMOC for the eddy (read person not shop) current inspection for the T-6 AD and by god he's a wixer! I took some pictures and will load them when I get them developed.

Check the EAA web site and click on warbirds, you'll see others have eddy current AMOC and they want you to do the questionnaire, please do it as NATA/EAA WOA are building a data base to try and get the AD time extended.
