WWII Ace Bud Anderson to be on Warbird Radio tonight!

Tonight at 8PM EST we will have the great honor of interviewing WWII Triple Ace Bud Anderson. I had the chance to call him last night and go over the routine and questions with him. What a great guy! Anderson has always been one of my heroes growing up. In fact the first airplane model I ever built was the Testors model kit my mother bought me of "Old Crow". It is an honor to talk with him. Absolutely!

I have read book after book to try and figure out (unsuccessfully) what sort of air-to-air combat tactics US pilots were taught:

from the start of the war through the end.
in advanced training and especially "clobber college"
across different services.

So if you could glean some of that information in your interview, I'd be most grateful.

I caught the show. AWESOME, great listening to our real hero's stories. Every time I hear Col. Anderson I drop what I'm doing to focus intently on every one of his words. :drink3:

Thanks for skipping the break and running over. Don't ever interrupt someone on a roll. Best interview Chris has ever done, don't think he got more than 15 words in the entire time. :lol:

I've had the honor of meeting Mr. Anderson twice this year and he is sharp as a tack when talking about his exploits. If you don't have a copy of his book "To Fly and Fight" get one ASAP. They were selling like hotcakes at the Monroe show a month ago. WIXer DaveG got the last copy much to the chagrin of those in line behind him. :twisted:

I interviewed him once before and we talked about it. Very cool to listen not only to the higher profile veterans, but it seems that every veteran has a story. No matter how small they feel their part of the war was, it matters.
