Nice to see that they can't be bothered or concerned enough to drag their sorry heinies out of foggy bottom and hold one in each FSDO before they announce their possibly already conceived decisions.

Great to see they've managed to lump airshows and air racing events into the same category  The two really need to be viewed differently. We had a terrible amount of airshow fatalities/accidents this year but they were all performers, not a single spectator.

This how the Gov works.
Its a hearing, not a Press Conference. The hearing they ask questions and gather info/data/look good in front of a camera. A press conference is where they make those announcements about new regulations.
The NTSB can only make recommendations, so the Press Conference will be combined with the FAA who will announce new policies and procedures to inform the world they can make sure these horrible events won't happen again. All of those new policies then will have to be written into rules and regulations at that point and dispersed to all the FAA offices.
I'm sure there are all ready conferences and such going on. Now probably more will take place.
Jan 10th is post holiday and starting off the next years tasks.
