Just thought I would post a update on where the latest update on the fw 190 project. We have completed the W/B on the airplane. The interesting point on the W/B and that my FW came full of fuel and oil at 7760 lbs, while Paul Allen’s came in at 7940 lbs. I attribute the weight difference is the armored plating around the front ring cooler and the older electric motors and such. The plane comes in within the envelope without the need to add weight. Santa came early for me, we received our airworthiness cert on wed. which is no mean task in today’s world. We have been doing engine runs and have found out that the drums brakes that came with the kit we would not happy with. Redline had brakes available, which were purchased and we should have the installation completed next week. The plan is to do taxi test next week and the start the flying either next week or the following week. I did my first run myself and few weeks ago, my impression of actually running the engine , was that while the cockpit is tight, you get use to it. The layout of the instruments and radio’s work well. The engine is fuel injected and starts up with just a few turns of the blades, unlike carb engines which you start in auto cutoff and move the mixture to normal when it fires, this starts in normal and without prime. Heading out to Stallion 51 for a turn up flight in the mustang on the 5th for a turn up. I have included a few videos of my engine run. I will post as soon as we fly

Sorry,looked on youtube at video then got sidetracked and looked at another FW190 that was on it's first flight,got the two mixed up,well it is Christmas and I'd had a few festive drinks.Guess I'm not perfect eh?
