Burbank 1947. What is the aircraft on right? Navion or something else?

From the shape and tail surfaces looks to be an FW-149....

I'd go with Navion. I can see where the Fw149 looks possible but I think it's just due to the blur making the tail look bigger.

Not even a question there...that is an L-17 in Air Force livery. And if it's truly a 1947 pic, then it's probably an L-17A at that.

And trust me...I know my L-17's. :-)

Picture taken 1947, first flight of FW-149 1953,survey says........................
What's the head on blurred aircraft between the bug smasher and the Navion? This looks like a screen grab panning shot of something else being shot @ Burbank Airport

No screen grab, just the back ground of the pics I posted here,

I see now it's an enlargement of that photo, lack of depth of field from using a medium format camera and slow 120 film. Lots of shiny new short nosed CONNIES and are those early P2V tails under the nose wheels?

A similar colored object in the background makes the Navion's tail look larger...T-28-ish.

It looks like some sort of truck or trailer between the buildings. :drink3:
