Randolph Field T-6 Photo

Looking for T-6 photo from 43 or 44 at Randolph or its satellite fields.
T-6C preferred but any ok from WWII.
Any other photos of action and activities at Randolph in that time appreciated as well.
Websites for organizations that could give these details would be great.

AT-6 airplanes at Randolph Field

There are photos of North American AT-6 airplanes that were based at Randolph Field, Texas, on page 24 of Squadron Signal's publication AT-6 in Action.

Anyone know the buzz number codes for the Randolph training squadrons? Colors?

Calling all TX airshow photogs.....if you have any pictures of Gordon Richardson's T-6, IIRC it is painting in Randolph colors/scheme. But you could prove me wrong.

The photos I have indicate one code to be N plus the number. Example: N44, N23, N29, N31, etc.

I saw Gordon Stephenson taxi that AT-6 into the tail of another AT-6 airplane at the CAF show in 2006. Ouch.

Whoops, wrong Gordon.

That is not the same plane. I was thinking of Stephenson's AT-6 instead of Richardson's. Sorry my mistake.

By the way, Stephenson's AT-6 is in pre-WWII markings if I remember it correctly. Nice looking airplane.

Try this guy, Chris McDoniel at azaaf@me.com He helped track down some info and pictures of the T6-C that my uncle died in. He was a gunnery instructor at Williams and was flying back to my Dad's graduation at Moore Field when they went down in weather. Uncle Norm was flying rear seat with a 1st Lt. PIC.

Maybe he has some leads.

Yowsa!

Cool Dude. He gave me the full report on my uncle's crash. Sad. He was heading back to pin my Dad's wings on when he graduated at Moore Field. Really sad that he was flying rear seat as the 2nd Lt to the PIC who was 1st Lt. Bad weather and the report said and quoted regs at the time, they should not have been given clearance to fly since the conditions at Moore were well below mins. They were apparently attempting an off field landing and the PIC flared too high and stalled. The report said the crater was 10 feet long and two feet deep.

He did also send me photos of the Williams AAF T6-C's at that time and I am asked Mustang Driver to build a model for my collection. He did a great one of Pop's P-47 in the CBI that is a special display in my office.

On page 6 there is a Randolph year book which has one photo toward the back of the book (page 31) with some 6's with the early war markings. 99% of the photos are BT-14's.

I didn't see any T-6s from that time period in this one.
Other Tex bases had some though.
I found this site earlier today and is pretty cool.
