Warbird or Aircraft Mechanics in OKC Area.

Thu Feb 16, 2012 11:08 am

I have need for knowledgeable mechanical help to disassemble and transport a yet to be reported aircraft in the OKC area to the Philly region.
PM me if you know of anyone in the OKC area that could help.
Also anyone who has the capability to truck an aircraft fus and wings.

I'm working on the logistics of moving a trainer type project at this time.

For those seeking more info-
Not a fighter.
Not foreign built.
Not a jet.
Not a bomber.
More details to follow soon.

Try Brad Pilgram in Altus. He is only two hours away unless he already retired from the air force.

Brad is in Addison with the B-29, but he would still be a good contact....

Les and Buddy Chapman have moved a number of aircraft for us. They are very good, and know what permits are needed to haul oversize loads. I'd get in touch with them once you know what aircraft you need to move.

I called the scheduler at Altus and Pilgram has not retired yet. PM me if you need his number. Sorry for posting his personal information.

51fixer,

There are several guys here in Tulsa, just a 90 minute drive up the turnpike, that are familiar with various trainer types. Stearman, N3N, Spartan NP-1, PT-19 etc. are all in the collections of various folks in the area. Let me know what you need and I can maybe get one of the guys to come over to help.

I've disassembled a few GA aircraft for trailer transport, and may be driving from NM through OKC and through PA in the near future for a temp job.

I'd need to know your time frame, load weights and dimensions. Do you have a trailer, or do you need one? Mine can carry a 9000 lb load and is 8x16ft. The bed is 3ft high.

I don't have any permit experience, except getting ticketed for moving a Beech Baron on the interstate. :axe:
