That was the N number back in 1973... Anyone know where it is now?

Probably sold by the insurance company and parted out? Just my speculation of course...

BDK,,, You are sharp..... I didn't think to look in accident reports...

I've been scanning old slides and I have several of this plane when it was FRESH surplus, just had military markings painted out on it....

Oh well, at 72, you need to get your sleep before you fly....

Thanks

Mark H

This airplane (N26213) was operated by the Fort Riley Aero Club (at Marshall Army Airfield) during the late 1970's. My father was a DOD civilian and a member of the club at the time, and he would regularly land that aircraft in our pasture (near Woodbine, KS). If I remember correctly, the rental cost was $9/hour wet. On one flight we flew it from Fort Riley, KS to Fort Smith, AR to visit relatives. I currently own a C-140, and someday would like to get my hands on a L-19 again.

This aircraft is still current on the register, but now as N727ER:

Here's what it looked like in 2006:

Well, that's good news! You can still build an L-19 from mostly NOS parts.
