Just saw an episode of Secrets of The Deat about the I-400 Submarine with the hangar. They were discussing how the japanese dealt with the problem of preheating the oil for the aircraft. Someone from the Connet. Corsair Restoration was being interviewed and demonstrated how the oil is preheated. Anyone else catch it on PBS tonight? Was very interesting to see.

I caught part of that tonight and also saw mention of the CT Corsair Crew. Didn't catch the name of the individual though. Interesting show. I hadn't realized the aircraft on the subs were dumped prior to surrendering the boats due to them having been painted in US markings.

It was Craig McBirney, founder of Connecticut Corsair. He's got an F4U-4 and it's gonna be a flier when restored. It's NOT the FG-1D Corsair Restoration project in Stratford.
