No idea, perhaps write to Fantasy of Flight as Kermits aircraft is one of these TP-40's and to my knowledge the only one surviving?

Heres a clearer version of your photo if it helps identify the additional parts.

"Assuming" the instructor in the back, I "presume" its some type of mirror or prism/periscope to let the guy in the back seat see the forward view, it looks like its got an arm to allow it to be moved into position?

The Russians use the same set up so the instructor can look forward over the students head/helmet on the Mig 23 amongst other single seaters converted to two seat trainers. It's usually two mirrors so the view isn't reversed for the instructor who looks into the one in front of him on the panel like artillery binoculars.

The s/n on this one falls into an odd hole, it's either in a blank spot in Baughers list of a block of C-45's or the middle of a batch of C-46's.HMMMM geek
