Howdy

I have a part which I an sure is for a B-25. In fact I have several of these in excellent order.

Part number is Y 82736 C.

The 82 tells me B-25 but I can not find anything else re the letter codes.

All constructive feddback will be appreciated.

North American P/Ns begin with 2 or 3 digits followed by a dash and then a 5 or more digit number typically.
Example 82-XXXXX.
Gov furnished parts or parts supplied by outside vendor such as gen, radios, seats would have a different P/N system.
Photo would help.

atfer allowing the item to soak over night, much of the paper has come off.

it definately reads Y82736 C with what appears to be an inspectors stamp ending in 449

will try to get a link to a pic later today.

You could be correct ewan. We have located other Gloster stuff there along with some excellent Vampire bits. But is pretty clear that there wasn't just one dump and burn but a series of them from about 1944 to 1960's so it would fit in with the timeframe.

the deepest aircraft remains we found, which was essential a molten mass was (at our best guess) a mustang in its former life. We removed it and took some sample bits to examine and have come up with CAA stuff but most has been B24, Beaufighter, some whackett stuff, Mustang, Kittyhawk or tomahawk, Wirraway of course and the occassional Boomerang bits. I now have enough B-24 turbo heat shilds to supply a squadron and enough Mustang bits a pieces for a couple of aircraft. 10 wheels, or mor accurately the wheel rims with brake pads for Liberator which I understand are the same as B-17. A poor turrent ring but have no idea what its from but would be a great pattern and list goes on and on.
