Look at the lighting, aircraft movements, camera angles, zoom angles, speed of the action. I love the TBD Devastators. The end sequence where the Zero lands on the carrier deck looks utterly real. I would be very happy seeing this kind of CGI in a movie.

Hollywood if your listening, don't even attempt a Midway movie unless you hire this team from Japan. I don't know who these folks are but I've seen some other stuff by them and it is amazing. Not this crap we get over here from Lucas, Bay and whoever.

That is very well executed! Where's it from? Even the engine sounds are appropriate, no lawnmowers or farm tractor engines.

Not bad once the aircraft were in the air. They moved pretty realistically and at the correct speed. Sun shadows moved well too. Flames and smoke were not to good and obviously the CGI pilot doesn't match the quality of the CGI aircraft.
I think the ships were weak as well as the Zero when it was on the deck. didn't seem up to the quality of the air shots. Pretty good though.

I see they borrowed the "once hit, the wing blows off" scenario from "Red Tails"!
