Mystery Wheel Covers.. B-24?

Wed Mar 28, 2012 8:14 pm

Hey guys,

An acquaintance of mine has in his possession 4 of these covers. They are 26" in diameter and we think they might be B-24?

Anyone have a clue?

Just based on the look and color I'd guess they were from a Privateer. I have no idea about the size though.

I believe that these are vitually identical on the B-24, PB4Y, and early P2V. (Which also all used the same wheel) The B-17, B-32, and C-82 also used the same wheel but I think the B-17 had an unvented dust cover as standard and don't recall ever seeing dust covers on the other types but I could be wrong.
