I've heard 2 rumors concerning 2 airworthy Corairs recently. First the F4U-4 in VMFT markings (green and white stripes) has a new owner who is going to repaint it has Joe Foss's -!A tri-toned scheme. Secondly, the F4U-7 Alberta Blue 's new owner is planning on installting full dual controls with some kind of camera set-up for the GIB to see. I know it sounds nuts but does anyone know anything???

Jack.

1. N240CA does indeed have a new owner. Who that is and how they plan to paint it, I have no idea.

2. I also have heard rumors that Alberta will go dual. In fact it has been floating around for a few years. At the time I thought the rumor went that a second canopy would be installed or something crazy like that. Whatever happens, I hope no cutting of Alberta will take place.

If he's adding dual controls, etc, you can bet there will be major reengineering and cutting involved. I hate it, but hopefully the guy will at least make something interesting out of the plane. FWIW, it will be the first dual control F4U to populate the warbird scene. Bittersweet I suppose. These will be the first major changes made to the plane since the Blacksheep TV series days. I think the paint currently on the plane is the same as seen in the filming of the show ("Hollywood" blue).
