Sea Fury T.20 Colour Codes Needed

Tue Apr 10, 2012 11:40 pm

Can anyone provide historically accurate paint colour codes for a Sea Fury T.20 restoration? This would be the silver RN trainer scheme with the yellow wing and tail bands. I need the silver, the yellow and the red, white and blue for the roundels.

Thanks,
Ken

That aircraft was painted by Sky Harbour at Goderich under the previous ownership.

The Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton.

The Royal Navy Historic Flight, Yeovilton.

And I'd also recommend a couple of rather good colour researchers - one Steve Atkin of Warbird Colour Services and Lee Howard. Think you can find Steve from here, ;) and Lee runs the RNHF website.

However the names and details of the colours are listed in a number of modellers' books on the post-war Fleet Air Arm; that's not hard. The tricky but is proportions, locations and fonts etc of the markings insignia and stencils.

Regards,
