Interesting discovery about my old truck (aviation related)

Mon May 14, 2012 12:30 pm

Turns out what I thought was an old US Army truck is actually an old USAAC truck. Some more stenciling has become visible on the front bumper where it says "LAAF". The other end of the bumper says what looks like "ADM 21" (admin?)
This either ties the truck to Liberty Army Airfield or Laguna Army Airfield. Both were in Az & both have history with black units, but not Tuskegee.

It doesn't show up too well in this pic..

Are you going ahead with the restoration? Your thread at g503.com is the only non-aviation thread I followed!

Not at this time, It's currently for sale. Too many projects, not enough space/time, but the main reason I have some health issues which have slowed me up quite a bit which have also caused some $$ issues. :(
On the up side, some interest was shown at Chino last week which may see the truck going to the right place.
