For the PC police, it refers to a bundle of sticks without a propeller, or more accurately the Waco CG-4 with that name, used in one of the most amazing rescues of WW2. I just finished reading the book "Lost in Shangri-la" by Mitchell Zuckoff, and can recommend it as a good read,
