Some pretty powerful storms tore through the area Friday, with 80-90 mph gusts..did any of the outdoor aircraft at the Museum sustain any damage?

It seems like storms are everywhere except in my next of the woods. We are praying for rain here.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I suspect we would have heard something by now on these forums and other places if there had been any problems with the aircraft at the Air Force Museum.

Thanks for the reply..after not hearing anything I was kind of taking a "no news is good news" attitude.

The storms just missed us..the northernmost edge of the line was less than 50 miles south of here. We desperately need rain..I don't think we've had a drop in over a month. My yard is straw..I stepped outside to watch the Thunderbirds beat up the town Friday, and had to put on sandals because the grass was too hot to walk on!

I was at the Museum this AM as an old friend from Texas who flew F-86D's is in town for a visit.

I didn't see any apparent damage in the Air Park as I drove in.

I'm sure you saw the the Military Tatoo on Friday evening, (expecting near 80,000) was cancelled as the winds wipped thru before it was scheduled to start. However, some who arrived around 4 when the gates were opened were hurt with some being hospitalized.

The stage took a beating, Pota Pottis overturned and damage to many of the vendor's equipment. Had the winds hit about 2 hours later, it could have been a disaster.
