I am traveling the first two weeks of August around the Seattle area to visit some aviation related events and museums. And of course because I am from Germany, I must attend the FHC Luftwaffe Day at Paine field.

But I have a question, I note from somewhere that on August 4th will be an Air Fair at Chehalis-Centralia Airport and that the few days before the B-17 Sentimental Journey will be available for rides. But on the web I can not find anything about the 2012 Air Fair. Anyone has some info about that event and what airplanes are expected to be present?

It's on the CAF schedule for the B-17 alright, but trust me...Chehalis-Centralia airport isn't that big, so it's not going to be a very big airshow. Doesnt' surprise me at all that thre isn't much/anything on the web.

In other words, like airshows used to be, calm, relaxed, easy going-no overly officious CAP 12 year olds. That's why I journey up to Concrete every year for their fly-in. You couldn't pay me to get in line tomorrow for the open house @ JBLM McChord on Wednesday the 4th.every year the one and ONLY exit off I-5 plugs up around 6:30 A.M.

I could only find mention of it here: http://ci.chehalis.wa.us/visitors/events I'm glad this got brought up, I didn't know it was upcoming or that the B-17 was coming there!

I live somewhat near there and yeah, it's a small airport and I went there one year for this event. I think I was there maybe for half an hour and got to see everything at a slow pace. It's normally a VERY small airshow.

Also make a note of the NW Antique fly-in at Scappoose (KSPB) OR 10-12th August.
http://nwaac.com/

This is a late announcement as they were scrambling to find a host airport.
Used to be at the Evergreen Airpark before that got turned into a shopping mall  then moved to McMinnville.
No idea why it's been moved again (bet somebody knows though  ), but it's a nice little event - no kerosene!

Sorry for my late reply and many thanks for the Info you all gave. I will go there on Friday to see the B-17 and have the Seafair Boeing Airshow for the weekend on schedule.

The Antique Airplane Fly-In sounds nice, I love these old planes. But my schedule is to go for the FHC Luftwaffe Day on 11th and the Abbotsford Airshow on 12th, so if I find time, for me only the Friday wil be possible for a visit at Scappoose.

If you can't make them all, you now have an excuse to return as long as you swear to everyone that our Annual RainFest only runs from early June to late May, it never gets above 11c, and the streets aren't paved yet.

Expect around 250,000 folks @ the Lake for the SEAFAIR Boat races- pop1 :drinkers:

All my friends know where I'll be on SEAFAIR SUNDAY, stuck to the TV like I have been for decades.

Saturday August 4th, there's also the NW Stearman Fly-In at Cottage Grove, OR. We're taking a 4-ship down there from the Seattle area. If the WX is decent, we may try to stop into CLS enroute.

If you're going to be at Olympia for the B-17, we'll also have the Cub and Stearman there for rides as well based about a block down the ramp at Jorgensen Air Service.
