The upcoming Cockpitfest USA ( see here: viewtopic.php?f=13&t=46318&p=464847&hilit=cockpitfest#p464847 )made me wonder. Who here has a cockpit that they are restoring? Not many people can preserve an entire aircraft, but most do have a spot for a cockpit. Many aircraft that would otherwise have been scrapped completely have now been partially preserved this way.

it seems very popular in england. i see posts on the subject on other forums all the time. i know of nobody local to me. the was a guy on ebay in the NY area selling some cockpits as a buisness venture. I think its a pretty neat hobby. you can sit in there and make all kind of gun noises and whatnot . I collect engines myself. a lot smaller and cheaper than a ww2 aircraft thats for sure.
