As a result of reading Patrick's plea for help this morning (regarding an NAA drawing), I went to Photobucket to post a couple of pages from one of my manuals. These pages were not, unfortunately, what Patrick was looking for - that page is not in my manual, in spite of the drawing being listed. However, during the attempted posting of the images, I discovered something about Photobucket which concerns me greatly and I wanted to pass the information along. My apologies if I am the only one who didn't know this before now.
When I logged in and clicked on upload, and subsequently the 'from my computer' box, I was suddenly face to face with the entire contents of my 'C' drive, right on the photobucket site - this was not a separate dialogue box like I am used to seeing. Just before this occurred, I got a warning from McAfee Site Advisor that the page I had requested could be dangerous to my computer, but my immediate reaction was 'Dangerous?' 'Photobucket?'
I did not make any attempt to go to my computer through Photobucket, other than clicking on the go ahead on the site advisor box. The next thing I knew, Photobucket had apparently entered my computer and listed everything on it on a sidebar. I'm no techie and maybe I'm a little naive, but I don't care for this at all. Consequently, I have cancelled my account, which will delete any and all images I have posted on WIX. This will take place over a 48 hour period and I will attempt to find another storage site from which to repost the images.
Most, but not all, of the images will have been posted in the Harvard/Yale/T-6/SNJ threads. Which reminds me - I haven't looked to see if those postings have been shifted to the new forum.
Sorry if this causes anyone a problem and once again, my apologies if this is all 'much ado about nothing'.
cheers Doug
