Warbird Information Exchange

Okay...for all you true historians, here's a collection of 8 x 10's my Grandfather left me. He was one very early flier although not quite this early but close.

At any rate, some really cool pictures of the primitive stages of airpower that we all worship now. I think I still prefer the Mustangs, Lightnings, and Jugs to these but somebody had to get the ball rolling, eh?

One of the planes looks more like an early British design. Maybe it's just the angle.

These are all B&W 8 x 10 glossies. Most have an "AS" number in the lower right hand corner and I am assuming they were printed from the original negatives though I'm not an expert and can't be sure.

I do not know how Grandpa acquired the photos as his military career was in the Navy but not as an aviator.

I labeled the photos as he did so perhaps the rifleman shot is of another plane. I notice now that the controls are different from the Wright "B".

Thanks. As always, I am looking to expand the knowledge base. This is all such cool stuff and needs to be preserved. darn, those guys were brave!
