I am just wondering if any photos have surfaced yet of the buried Spitfires in Myanmar? I tried a internet search, but nothing came up... I have also read reports that the cache possibly includes some Hurricanes and Mossies as well. Any truth to these reports?

Yeah, here's one, just after being recovered. You can see that it has been carefully placed in the concrete bunker where pre-flight tests will take place...

As to Hurricanes and Mossies, if anybody wants to sift through the mud, they might be able to arbitrarily declare that some of it is what's left of the aforementioned machines.

Cheers,
Matt

I have serious doubt about all this story.

I'm the only one with this feeling ?

With lot of luck all the part collected in Burma will allow to rebuilt one Spitfire in a 10 years time frame with 3 or 4 millions $ :D

I think it would be cheaper, quicker, and simpler if you just started with a bargeload of Bauxite ore and a small hammer and crafted your own from scratch.
My take right from the get-go was this story was in the 'lost Buggatti behind a wall' campfire story knitted out of smoke and fog section.
