Added a photoset of the Wings of eagles aviation museum\Discovery center
at Elmira Corning - 2005
Formely also known as National Warplane museum

The museum has some intresting aircraft on display.
A rare FH-1 Phantom ,F-4B Phantom ,He-162 salamander (R) and in the restoration shop the only BTD Destroyer survivor.
Unfortunatly a few aircraft were outside during my visit and the rained the whole day .
In the back of the museum 2 grumman cougar fuselages and a X-22 (V-22) Osprey cockpit.

The museum is currently moving to another location at the same airfield

Id assume the BTD would be going to Pensacola at some point. Is it Navy owned?

Thanks for the reply,
The BTD used to be at the Florence Air & Missile Museum collection until the museum's closed in 1997.
According the museum site (and various others) its on permanent loan from the Navy museum at Pensacola.

I took a solo cross-country flight there a little while back, all the a/c were outside (BTD Included.)

Every time I drive by there on my road trip to Geneseo, I just shake my head. A world class museum, built on the heels of some of the greatest air shows ever at Batavia, only to fall flat financially. At least the flyers have gone on to better homes.
