In the past there have been requests on the forum of how to go from flying a Cessna to a T-6 or even the heavy metal. Our bread and butter is scenic flights, but we have received enough requests recently for Stearman or heavy tailwheel specific training and proficiency instruction that I thought I'd put it out to the pacific northwest warbird community that we can take a pilot all the way from a J-3 to stock Stearman, a 450 Stearman, and follow on in a T-6. The T-6 won't be online until there is some interest, but it's out there.
We also do advanced training, we've had requests to help guys polish up their wheel landings, smooth out a loop, or gain more confidence in their spin recovery technique.
Our pilots are all F.A.S.T. Leads/instructor and we have a check pilot in Stearmans, L-birds, T-6 and fighters. Carter Teeters is also a T-6 instructor and check pilot for the CAF and several other museums. One of our other pilots is also a very experienced DC-3 and B-25 instructor.
We are also planning on hosting a comprehensive formation clinic in May 2013 at Olympia (OLM) Check in on the website and/or our Facebook page periodically for details and updates.
We don't list a warbird specific progression and training syllabus on the website because it's not a common request. If you inquire, we can tailor a program that suits your goals and experience level. In short, we were all experienced warbird guys before we started the scenic biplane flights, but warbirds are where our hearts are.
The website is still a work in progress, but most of the information is there.
