Douglas Bader and his 242 " disintergration Squadron " :D

I have been layed up in bed a bit of late :( , so I remembered of course it's Battle of Britain time again  .

So I have been reading, my now quiet large collection of B of B book's, Even Reach for the sky of course, because it's D.B.'s finest hour too!.

Covering it day by day, hour by hour, looking at all the picture's of the main player's on both side's, the maker's, the shaker's and of course the loser's.

Have some awesome picture's through all of them, but I have no scanner!!.

Now as a tribute to the B of B, and Douglas Bader and his lad's 65 year's
on!.

Could some kind people outthere post some picture's of D.B., some of the lad's, and any other B of B picture they think is relervent to the thread!!.

Weather's still a bit bad today over Europe August 23th 1940, been a bit of a lull, but tommorow, the heat's back on, and it's Tally Ho! time again.

A picture of the 12th Group Wing would be real nice too!

FIVE SQUADRONS. Sixty plus fighters!......Even Bader was startled. He collected himself:
" Yes, Sir. When a fight start's we'd break up anyway. I'd have the Spitfire's on top to hold off any 109's, and a mass of Hurricane's below with nothing to worry about on their tail's could crucify a pack of bomber's."
" I thought of that too, " said Leigh-Mallory.

(from Reach For The Sky)Paul Brickhill.

Seven day's from now, on the 30th August, D.B. get's to lead HIS own Squadron 242 in to the Battle for the first time.

Now please, let's all relive the Battle of Britain, 65 year's on.

I think we all know, that without this great battle being won, by the Brit's and friend's, THE WHOLE END OF WW2 would have, and could have gone on for many more year's.

So please join in, and let's EDUCATE the masse's, so the young don't forget!!.

Thank's inadvance to any Lady's and Gent's. who want's to add picture's or comment's to this thread.

Lest we Forget!.

Cheer's all far and wide :partyman: , Tally Ho! :spit Phil :supz: downunda  in Oz :butthead:  .
