WIX'ers & Warbirds in New Orleans Area?

Sun Aug 28, 2005 3:32 pm

Not sure how many folks are clued into this storm, but if you know anything about the 'Big O' then you're probably aware of the disaster that's most likely in the making here. The entire town is 15 to 20 feet below sea level, so whatever water accumulates from the storm will not be draining off anytime soon.

I don't know of any forum members who are from the area, but I figured it was worth a shout to see what they were doing to prepare for the overnight deluge. There are a lot of people just sitting around preparing to ride it out. The smart ones are outbound.

Other than the D-Day museum, the only warbirds I can recall in the area are the Fw-190 restoration in Baton Rouge, and maybe a plane or two in Lafayette.

I'm located in the northern area of the State so I'm not expecting much more than some high winds and many bucket fulls of precipitation. :)
