They landed on Sunday with the number 2 engine shutdown and feathered. Everybody has been pretty quite about it. Does anybody know what the problem was?

I've seen the other thread and posted the same question there with no real result. All that is mentioned there is a rumor of a prop governer. I was hoping for something more concrete. Doesn't anybody from the B-29 group post here?

What I know is that the engine is headed to back to Ray Anderson's shop, where it will be torn down and the cause of the problem determined. Until then no one knows exactly what happened. Hopefully it will be a simple component failure.

It was a precautionary shutdown due to several problems. The maintenance team decided to keep the speculation down by keeping quiet until the definative answer is available. We all know how crazy it can get on WIX, so please bear with us until more info is known.

That's pretty technical. Could you break that down so the lay person could understand.

Let me take a try at that....

Something worked and then it didn't. Thus, no more, Boom, Boom, Round, Round, Propeller Go...

Thank you. I'll be here all wee..... :axe: :axe: :axe:
