Who all is going to Wings Over Houston this year? I'm hoping to attend with the L-5.

I traveled to Houston for the first time last year and enjoyed the show. Despite some losses from its original warbird lineup it was a very good air show. This year's show just does not have the excitement in the lineup to get me to travel that far.

I hope that I will get back to a future show someday. If they would put the locally resident Collings Foundation jets (F-4, A-4, F-100, T-33, etc.) up in the air and/or fly some of the NASA aircraft like the Super Guppy, WB-57, etc., in the show it would be a slam dunk for me.........

I will have my Hawker Tempest MK II restoration up there for people to get a close look at:)

Come by and take a look while you are there.

If you cant make it out this year, take a look at the restoration website : www.warbirdrebuild.com

Thanks,
Chris

Sounds very interesting! Hopefully I will be at a future Houston show where you have it in the air. Wish you all the best with this project!

The Collings Foundation Me 262 is at Ellington now as well, but could not come to an agreement, so it will be in the hangars with the F-4, TA-4, T-33, F-100, Huey and S2F.

I assume it belongs to Texas Flying Legends as it was in their hanger tonight along with their Zero. Got to see the Osprey do it routine for the first time today. Also today was the first visit to WOH of the F22 Raptor and what a show it put on. I was warned how loud it was and it exceeded anything I was expecting. The Heritage Flight with the F4, F22, P47, and P51 was flown to perfection.

An unexpected visitor was Lone Star Flight Museums SBD, it's first airshow in 6 years or so.

I'll have my camera there tomorrow and hopefully will have some photos available by Tuesday or Wednesday

Not particularly good pictures. I caught one of the Wildcat, the Raptor and the Phantom. Would like to have seen the Collins F-4 as well...

I thought the Bearcats and the tribute to Mr. Pardue were great as well.

Chunks, the Collings F-4D has been based in Houston since 1999. It has never been invited to fly at Wings Over Houston.

The UH-1 and TA-4 have flown a couple of years as part of the Viet Nam reenactment. That part of the show was cancelled last year.

Here is my composite shot of the memorial pass for Howard Pardue. Last year he was in his Bearcat firing up as I was getting out of the L-5. Sad we'll never see either of them again.
