November, The month of Art and Remembrance at the Alberta Aviation Museum

November is a month of great contrasts, a time of preparation for the Holiday season with friends and family as well as a time to Remember all the brave Canadians we have lost in the many conflicts around the world over the last century.

November is a month that needs to be very special and the Alberta Aviation Museum is taking planning on making it very special as a celebration of Arts and Culture while working with our Museum partners to host Remembrance Day services and recognize the accomplishments and bravery of those that have gone before us.

November 8th to 11th the Alberta Aviation Museum will be hosting “Letters in Wartime” produced by RibbetRepublic Theater. Letters in Wartime is a "heart wrenching standout" (SEE MAGAZINE) that brings you right into the eye of World War II, the struggles, the hope and the loss of innocence. From thousand bomber raids to sacrifices made on the home-front, Letters in Wartime is a brilliant exploration of the ramifications of war. Ticket information at http://www.ribbitrepublic.com/

November 11th will be our traditional Remembrance Day service in the Museum facility hosted by the Ex- (RCAF) Air Alliance. The Ex – (RCAF) Air Alliance and the Aviation Museum facility have been working together on this very special indoor Remembrance Day service for over a decade. Seating is limited to 400 persons so please arrive by 10am and be seated by 10:15am. After the Remembrance Day service admission to the Alberta Aviation Museum is free, donations appreciated.

Closing off this very special November will the facility will be hosting our first Art Show, “The Art of Flight” November 29th to December 2nd. Hosted within the main Museum display area the “Art of Flight” will feature artworks of all genre with the common theme of “Flight” of any form. Expect to see everything from original paintings, photography and much more as the Museum with the Aircraft and exhibits becoming the back drop of a fine arts gallery.

This first for the Aviation Museum is being organized with Joe Amato of Amato Art Productions, more information coming soon.

November, a very special month at the Alberta Aviation Museum.
