F4U Folks:

Good day!

Does anyone know the status of Bob's F4U at Kindred, ND??

Pictures of this fine restoration project will be appreciated. Buno 96885 is one of the last F4Us fuselages brought fm Honduras c. 1979. Any other warbirds in that area??

Are you sure about number. I show 96885 on display at the USS Midway.

CB13:

Good Day!

He has a few other warbirds/fuselages also according to Mike's comments. This F4U-4 is a fuselage that has a potential for any full F4U restoration project.

Maybe you can get in touch with him for some recent pictures on his FG-1D & updates on Buno 97320.

Tks in advance

The outboard wings are at the Az Wing of the CAF. Bob was working on them while he was down here for the winter. He will transport them back up there when he is ready to finish them and hang them on the plane. I'll take some pics of the wings tomorrow.

Chris:

Those are great news!

We'll std-by for those pictures. If possible plz take some close-ups of the ID plates at the wings. Will you be able to photograph the rest of the fuselage of the X FAH 616 once back in Calif??

Tks in advance

Sorry the pics took so long. I only had my phone today and the wings were stacked right up against one another so detail pics were not possible. He has a long way to go with these but he's hoping to bring it down to Arizona next winter. Rest of the plane is up in ND

Chris:

Good Day!!

Tks for the nice set of wing pictures of Buno 97320. Did you or someone else took some pictures of the wings as they came in with scheme in the blue/white wingtips?

Perhaps you can get/obtain for us pics of the rest of the fuselage at ND. We are looking for the tail sections still with the Reg FAH 616 below the horizontal stab and cockpit pics as well.

Tks in advance for the time & attention
