Ok, here's part one of the list, and at the bottom of this post I will leave a link to the page that I left off on. (I'm not finished with this yet)

If one of the planes is underlined, like this, it means that someone has sent me information about that airframe stating that is definatly gone or destroyed.

That would be New Port Richey.

You also might want to check out the book by Bob Widner.

No, it's not. This book lists and summarizes in detail several hundred fatal Florida USAAF crashes that occurred during WWII.

This book has over 32,000 individual index entries; over 15,500 names of USAAF personnel killed in the states during WWII; over 7,500 aircraft serial numbers listed in the index. These volumes summarize over 6,350 fatal USAAF aviation accidents that occurred in the Continental United States during the Second World War. There is no website that duplicates what these volumes contain.

There has been a lot of work already:

Bob Widner has an interesting book that treats military aviation accidents in Florida during WWII and he is out there probably right now looking for planes.

The Widner book and the Mireles book are a pretty good start.

There is an existing community of "Wreckchasers" in Florida and Geogia. You guys should try and find them and go out in the field with them.

Yeah! Since the sites are way too close to any civilization for TIGHAR to be interested, too many nosey Parkers for them.

these crashed aircraft, do the records indicate whether or not the remains of the crashed aircraft were recovered by the AAF or USAF? I know that the B-25J that crashed in Pine Mountain, Ga on 1 October 1953 was policed up by the AF guys and taken to Lawson Field for disposal. all that is left are small, and I do mean small bits and pieces.

Some AAF accident reports indicate the final dispostion, some do not. They mostly take up the big pieces and leave all the little stuff behind. If the area is very remote, they only recover bodies, ammo and military sensitvie items. Been to a lot of crash sites. Some times there is not a lot left. Like the F-84 site I went to in AZ (non fatal). The only real recognizable piece was the engine; the shaft was bent almost 90 degrees from the 700+ mph nose down impact. Nothing left but thousands of small pieces. The immediate terrain looked like it was covered in silver dollars. There is just no easy way to remove it all in the 100 degree sun.
