That looks like Tillamook's P-39. Restoration to flyable I hope.... Is that going to be a P-51A or B?

Has a mount for a Merlin.
P-51B as it was based on parts recovered from Europe.

The P-51C is 42-103100, N426QA, being restored as "Berlin Express", complete with an authentically recreated Malcolm hood (like "Impatient Virgin"). In the photo shown above, you can already see the red-painted wheels.

This is the Pacific Fighters Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/pag ... 01?fref=ts
and their Web site (note the banner, showing the scheme the aircraft will be sporting): http://www.pacificfighters.net/

Both on their web site and on their Facebook page, there are some photos from earlier in the project. Very cool to see the P-39 in the shop, and what that hopefully means! ; )

Here are some additional photos of the P-51C, when the wings and fuselage were mated this past August (towards the bottom of the page): http://www.warbirdinformationexchange.o ... =3&t=47873

The P-39 is being done as a static, in lend-lease colours

I was hoping those red wheels meant "Shangri-La". :(
