What were happened to the Bylthe, CA Corsairs?

I saw them parked there in 1970 and have wondered for years were they went.

I think one of them became "Angel of Okinawa", now with Kermit Weeks.

Angel was one. I have some pics of it there before Merle got her. I think there's a list of the BuNo.s that could be crossreferenced.

There was an article some years ago, either in Warbird International or Air Classics regarding the Corsairs. From what I recall, the vast majority of the Blythe airframes are still extant. IIRC, one of them ended up being one of the "Baa Baa Black Sheep" Corsairs.

There where two P-38s at POM when I lived in Baldwin Park in 1964

I've heard that Hardwick had as many as three P-38s at POM...but I only saw one when I photo'd N79123 in May 1964...

Sounds like he was an interesting guy. The POF P-38 (I believe) came from there.
